The local Regiment was warmly greeted by residents of the Town before parading past the dias, with bayonets fixed and colours flying, where the Town Mayor took the salute.  The Mayor (Cllr Bryan Richardson) presented the Regiment with a specially prepared commemorative document, marking the formal granting of the Freedom, to the Regiment.  He then inspected the troops who formed up in front of the Town Hall.  After inspection the Troops enjoyed a buffet lunch and drinks with invited guests.
