Events and Festivals
Newark Town Council is proud of its reputation for staging a number of quality events each year (most of which are free of charge). The Councils’ events cater for all ages and many are music orientated. There is a small dedicated events team who work to deliver a variety of large and small scale events that take place within Newark on Trent.
The annual programme ranges from a series of winter tea dances and concerts through to large community based events such as Newark Day, Summer Picnic & Brass Explosion and the Christmas Lights Switch On.
Given the Council's commitment to promoting tourism and economic development, these leisure events have significantly attracted extra visitors into the town as well as providing interest and thriving attractions for the people of Newark.
2009 saw several special events which were unique.
