Events and Markets during 2026
A fabulous array of events are planned for 2026!
Details will be published over the coming months.
2025 – A Successful Year of Events at Newark Royal Market Place
Newark Royal Market Place enjoyed a very successful series of outdoor events throughout 2025, attracting residents and visitors alike and bringing the town centre to life.
Highlights from the year included the ever-popular Christmas Lights Switch On, which once again created a festive focal point for the community, along with the spectacular Ignite Fire Festival that drew large crowds and widespread praise. A programme of Brass Band concerts provided a traditional soundtrack to summer afternoons, while Armed Forces Day offered an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the service of our armed forces. Children’s fun days also proved extremely popular, delivering family-friendly entertainment and activities throughout the year.
Building on this success, plans are already underway to host another exciting and varied programme of events during 2026. These are expected to include the much-anticipated return of Newark on Sea, alongside a range of other fantastic events designed to appeal to all ages and support local businesses.
Full details of the 2026 events programme will be announced early in the New Year, following budget approval. Organisers are looking forward to another vibrant year that continues to strengthen Newark’s reputation as a welcoming and lively destination for events and community celebrations.
